DeepSeek limits registrations in the wake of large-scale cyberattacks

On January 28, DeepSeek announced that registration may be suspended due to large-scale malicious attack on DeepSeek services. Users who are registered can log in normally. DeepSeek App, which was previously known as ChatGPT, surpassed it to become the number one free app in the US App Store on Jan. 27. It also topped the chart of free apps in China. On the same day, major tech firms saw their stock prices plummet. Nvidia’s shares fell as much as 10.39% in the pre-market, ASML dropped 10.59% and TSMC slid by 9.8%, approaching a double-digit decline. Bloombergstates that the market turmoil was caused by DeepSeekโ€™s newly released AI model. This model is cost-effective, and can run on lower-end processors, raising concerns over Nvidia and others being overvalued.[Reuters[Reuters- TechNode report](19659002)
