DeepSeek, the latest buzzword in AI, is already being used by Huawei, Honor and Microsoft, as well as some automakers in their products and services. The Chinese-made platform gained instant popularity in the United States and quickly climbed to the top of the App Store.

Rene Haas, the CEO of Arm, expressed his concerns regarding the future of the service to Financial Times. He said that it could be forced to close down “due foreign policy” implications arising from its status as an Chinese company. Haas stated that his prediction reflects recent developments regarding TikTok. The social media platform owned by ByteDance, which originated in China, could face a split within its US operations, or even be shut down, despite the ban having been delayed.

The DeepSeek iOS app
DeepSeek’s app and web service are based on the DeepSeek open-source AI model. While access to the service is restricted, users are still able to download and use the language model.
