SAN FRANCISCO — August 19, 2025. Databricks announced today that it had signed a termsheet for its Series K Round, which is expected to close in the near future with existing investors’ backing. This funding values the firm at>$100 billion.
According to the company, it will use this new capital to accelerate their AI strategy – expanding Agent Bricks and investing in Lakebase, its new database, as well as fueling global expansion. Databricks announced two new products at the Data + AI Summit in June: Agent Bricks which creates high-quality production AI agents optimized to your enterprise data and Lakebase a new type operational database (OLTP) built on Postgres open source and optimized for AI Agents. The investment will also be used to support future AI acquisitions, and deepen AI Research.
We’re seeing tremendous interest from investors because of our AI products that power the world’s biggest businesses and AI services,” Ali Ghodsi said, co-founder, and CEO of Databricks. “Each company can turn their enterprise data into AI agents and apps to grow revenue faster, run more efficiently, and take smarter decisions while reducing risk. Databricks has benefited from an unprecedented global demand of AI apps and agents that turns companies’ data into goldmines. We’re delighted this round has already been oversubscribed, and to partner up with strategic, long term investors who share our vision of the future of AI.” This new investment follows on from strong momentum for Databricks. In the last two years, the company has expanded or launched partnerships with Microsoft, Google Cloud Anthropic SAP and Palantir. Databricks Data Intelligence Platform is used by more than 15,000 customers worldwide to democratize AI and data access, allowing them to easily harness the power of data for AI agents and apps. The platform is built on an open-source foundation and allows organizations to drive innovation which increases revenue, lowers cost, and reduces risks.
