Chinese tech giants secured NVIDIA H20 shipments worth billions ahead of US sanctions: report

before the US announced new sanctions against NVIDIA chips earlier in the month, Chinese tech titans Alibaba, Tencent and ByteDance placed orders totaling 12 billion dollars for NVIDIA H20 chip. Sources claim that several billion dollars worth of chips were already shipped to China prior to the supply disruption caused due to the April sanctions. According to reports, the three firms secured one million H20 chip. It is unclear if all the NVIDIA chips ordered were delivered before the full sanctions took effect.
