ChatGPT is the most popular chatbot

According to reports, OpenAI’s ChatGPT has a much higher popularity than other artificial-intelligence (AI) tools.

The same rankings show that ChatGPT has almost 80 percent of the chatbot market, while Copilot is ranked fifth behind DeepSeek, Google’s Gemini, and Google’s Gemini.

Microsoft Copilot, however, is more popular in Canada. ChatGPT is still the leader with 143 millions monthly visits and a market share of approximately 86,5 per cent. DeepSeek is second with 11.97 millions, and Copilot comes in third with 2,91 million. Google Gemini is in fourth place with 2.29 million monthly visits by February 2025.

Including all categories of AI-based tools, Canva replaces DeepSeek as the second most popular AI tool in Canada with 19.92 millions monthly visits. DeepSeek drops to third place, while other tools such as the search engine Perplexity, and writing tools such as QuillBot and Grammarly round out the top 10. Copilot drops to 11th.

Microsoft is also making inroads beyond the business world. Samsung and LG announced at CES they will add Copilot to select TV models. Microsoft has just extended Copilot Plus AI capabilities to Intel and AMD PCs, along with the TV industry.

Microsoft hasn’t given up on its AI assistant either. It recently released an update for Copilot vision that can view a user’s screen and assist in tasks similar to sharing a screens on a Teams call. Microsoft is also testing a Copilot file-searching tool that can quickly find and summarize supported files.
