Apple prepares Google Gemini integration with Apple Intelligence (19459000)
Apple Intelligence currently offers the ability to send Siri requests to ChatGPT. This provides more contextual answers than Siri could provide. Craig Federighi, Apple’s software exec, said in an interview at WWDC24 that they would like to integrate with other AI models including Google Gemini. According to a recent leak, this integration could be coming in the near future.
Apple Intelligence now includes “Google” and OpenAI options in a backend upgrade pushed along with iOS 18.4 beta. This comes from Aaron Perris is a code sleuth on X.
Although this doesn’t confirm that Gemini integration will be later in iOS 18.4, given the other Apple Intelligence delay, it almost confirms that it’ll arrive at some point soon, perhaps in a future iOS 18 update or iOS 19 Apple is expected release its own conversational Siri in iOS 19.
