Bloomberg’s Mark Gurman (19459036) says that the company may not release “a truly modernized, conversational Siri” until iOS 20 is released in 2027. This doesn’t mean that there won’t big Siri updates before then. A new version will be released in May, incorporating the Apple Intelligence capabilities that were announced by the company nearly a year ago. Gurman described this version of Siri having “two minds,” one for older commands such as setting timers or making calls, and the other for advanced queries that can utilize user data. The system, internally known as “LLM Siri,” which combines the two brains will be announced at the Worldwide Developers Conference (WWDC) in June. It is expected to launch in spring 2026. Gurman claims that Apple will only be able to fully develop Siri’s advanced features if it waits until then. This could happen the following year.
