Apple aiming to launch delayed Apple Intelligence features this fall: report

Apple delayed some Apple Intelligence functions like personalized Siri in the early part of this year.

According to a new report, Apple plans to release Apple Intelligence Siri features that have been delayed this fall.

The New York Times reported that Apple is confident about a fall release.

Apple hasn’t cancelled its revamped Siri. Three people familiar with the company’s plans have confirmed that it plans to release a virtual assistance in the fall, capable of editing photos and sending them to a friend upon request. This version of Apple Intelligence could launch with the latest iPhones in autumn.

The new Apple Intelligence allows Siri to track email, messages, files and photos, and learn from interactions. Siri will also have onscreen awareness. For example, if someone sends an address to you, you can ask Siri for it to be added to their contact card. This version of Apple Intelligence can also get directions, share them, or move files from one app to another. Apple Intelligence features launched with iOS 18.2 are available in Canada.

This version offers ChatGPT, priority notifications, and Apple’s Image Playground.

For frustrated customers, however, this may be too late. Apple has been sued in both the U.S., and now Canada, over the delayed Apple Intelligence feature. The company was accused by the government of spreading misleading advertisements about Apple Intelligence.
