Anthropic has joined the ranks of OpenAI by offering a more costly tier of its flagship Chatbot. The company announced its plans on Wednesday. Max Plan. You can now pay $100 or even $200 per month for Claude to get 5x or 20x the amount of usage than with Anthropic’s existing Pro plan. The company told Engadget that it is introducing the Max tier as a response to the popularity Claude 3.7 Sonnet. The new hybrid reasoning model excels at coding and has been so well received by users that many want to use it as often as they like. Anthropic hasn’t yet offered unlimited usage for the new model, as tokens for Claude 3.7 Sonnet are significantly more expensive than what Google or others charge for their lightweight models. Even OpenAI’s Pro plan, which costs $200 per month, has its own restrictions. For example, there are monthly limits on features like Deep Research. Anthropic offers two different prices at the Max level to give customers flexibility as their needs change. Anthropic will also give priority access to the new models and capabilities when they are released.
