Transform-CV is a low-cost and flexible platform that allows manufacturers, distributors and integrators to improve their component and subsystem Quality Assurance.
The majority of small and medium-sized manufacturers rely on manual inspections for Q/A. These processes are dependent on personnel and, as a result, are limited in reliability, repeatability, and accuracy. SMB manufacturers often find logic-based conventional CV systems too expensive, especially when it comes to low-volume, high-mix applications. Traditional CV systems also require initial programming by CV specialists and reprogramming when new features or defects are detected. This time-consuming and expensive process of initial deployment and updating is often a costly and lengthy one.
Transform-CV, on the other hand, is based upon COTS components, and uses deep learning to accelerate real-time inference and training operations. This results in a high-performance, cost-optimized solution that can be “trained” based on images or drawings of DUTs with their relevant features or defect. Transform-CV, once trained, can be run in real-time using an intuitive GUI. This greatly improves the repeatability and reproducibility of Q/A operations. Transform-CV also supports customer-enabled learning. By collecting and annotating images themselves, users can “teach” use Transform-CV on new DUTs, or to recognize new features or defects, without needing additional programming or consultation by ADS or other third parties. This dramatically reduces the Total Cost of Ownership.
The Transform-CV software is written in Python, PyTorch, and designed to run on Linux and Windows PXle Systems and PCs. It can also easily interface with MATLAB LabVIEW and other popular application frameworks. Transform-CV is capable of a wide range of inspections, including macro- and microscopic dimensional analyses, workmanship inspections, sorting and classifying, and defect detection. ADS is developing Transform CV systems for microelectronics applications, cable manufacturing, kitting CNC machining and additive manufacturing.
