Adobe Firefly Image Model 4 was one of many updates at MAX

Adobe’s MAX London event buzzed with groundbreaking advancements. The spotlight was firmly focused on their latest iteration: Firefly Image Model 4, a generative AI image modeling model.

The new model promises a leap in realism for professionals and creative control. It is a cornerstone for Adobe’s vision of AI-powered creativity. Adobe showcased its Creative Cloud suite, as well as the new Firefly app.

Firefly Image Model 4 was designed to deliver ultra-realistic images, giving creators the ability to create stunning visuals in a remarkably accurate manner. This commercially-safe AI model is now embedded within the new Firefly application, giving creative professionals a dedicated space to explore and brainstorm with AI assistance. Adobe offers users the option to experiment with different aesthetics through the integration of partner model from industry leaders such as Google and OpenAI in the Firefly application.

Firefly takes center stage

Adobe’s newly announced Firefly application serves as a hub for AI-driven creative content. AI-Assisted Ideation:

  • This dedicated app empowers creative professionals with the power of Firefly AI models to brainstorm and develop concept ideas.
  • Firefly Boards: An AI-first workspace that allows teams to develop ideas visually together. Multi-Model Exploration : Creators can now explore a variety of aesthetic styles by choosing between Adobe’s Firefly and partner models.

Creative Cloud Gets an AI-Powered Boost:

Adobe has rolled out significant updates to its core Creative Cloud apps, including improvements in speed, precision and new AI-powered features.

Users will be able to enjoy features such as Composition Reference, which offers structure-aware image creation, enhanced selection tools, Select Details, intuitive color adjustments, and an Actions panel that offers intelligent workflow suggestions.

With Express: the focus is on empowering content creators with advanced tools such as Clip Maker for social media content, Dynamic Animation to bring still images to life and Enhance Speech to improve audio clarity.

Illustration: Popular effects are now up to five times quicker. New AI tools such as Text to Pattern and Generative Shape Fill offer designers innovative ways to jumpstart their creative process.

InDesign : The integration Firefly-powered Generative Fill to transform vector graphics, along productivity enhancements such as Math Expressions and improved PDF conversion will streamline workflows.

In Lightroom: Photographers will benefit from new tools such as Select Landscape to mask specific areas, enhanced sharing capabilities for mobile and web and improvements to Quick Actions.

Premiere Pro : Video Editors will benefit from the general release of Firefly powered Generative Extend, which now supports 4K and vertical videos. They will also gain access to Media Intelligence (for rapid footage search) and Caption Translation (for instant localisation). Adobe Fresco:The new features include “created without generative artificial intelligence tag” for Content Credentials, and the ability to link exports directly to social media accounts. This gives creators greater control and transparency.

Adobe has also enhanced the Creative Cloud ecosystem with the addition of over 1,500 popular Fonts to the Adobe Fonts Library, ensuring that there is a greater selection for creative projects.

Adobe shared its vision of AI agents within Creative Cloud. It hinted at intelligent tools that could understand natural language and assist creators more intuitively. This agentic AI future is envisioned by the updated Actions panel of Photoshop.

Adobe, as part of its commitment to the creative industry, announced a new Creative Apprenticeship program and enhanced protections for the work of creators through the public beta version of the Adobe Content Authenticity App. This free tool allows creators attach verified identity information as well as indicate their preferences for the use of their work to train generative AI models.
