Poco F7 launched this week with a discount. How does it compare to the other F7 models, though? The Samsung Galaxy S25 Edge also got a price reduction.
Poco F7 powered by Snapdragon 8s Gen 4 with a large battery of 6,500mAh. The Snapdragon 8s Gen 4 is very similar to the Snapdragon 8 Gen 3, which is inside the F7 Pro. However, the phone can get hot during long gaming sessions. 90W of charging via wire is supported.
The Poco F7 Pro costs PS80 more than vanilla model. It has a smaller screen (6.67″ instead of 6.83″) but is sharper (1440p+ as opposed to 1280p+). The battery is also smaller at 6,000mAh. Both phones have metal frames with IP68 ratings. The 50+8MP setups may look similar at first, but the Pro has a larger main sensor (1/1.55″ as opposed to 1/1.95″), and can record 8K videos (both phones can do 4K at 60fps though, which is the more important).
The Poco F7 Ultra has the Snapdragon 8 Elite which offers significantly better performance (although it throttles more than average when under sustained load). This model is not only about the chipset. It also has a telephoto (50MP 1/2.76″, 2.5x/60mm lens with OIS), and a 32MP ultra-wide camera. The battery is small, at 5,300mAh. It supports 120W wired charging and 50W wireless. Check out our article on the Poco F7 Pro and F7 Ultra.
If you want to go back to the F7 vanilla, the Poco X7 Pro offers a cheaper alternative for PS80 less. It has a smaller display of 6.67″ and a smaller battery of 6,000mAh (90W charging). The frame is plastic, but it’s rated as IP68/IP69. Even in graphics tests, the Dimensity 8400 Ultra chipet is very close to the Snapdragon 8s Gen 4 chipset.
At launch, the Samsung Galaxy S25 Edge cost a lot. But the good news is that its price has already dropped. You can get a 512GB version for PS1,100, and if you already have a Prime Student or Prime subscription you can take PS100 off.
or
you can buy a Samsung Galaxy S25+. In our Galaxy S25+ and S25 Edge comparison, we found that the Plus had a better battery life but the Edge felt more premium and offered comparable camera performance.
If the camera is important to you, you should consider the Samsung Galaxy S25 Ultra. It’s PS100 cheaper if you want the 512GB version. The Ultra is heavier than the Edge (163g vs. 218g), but has two more telephoto lenses. For a more detailed comparison of the Galaxy S25 Edge and S25 Ultra, we have created a detailed comparison.
