Xbox begins testing Copilot on mobile

The chatbot can give you info on the games you’re currently playing, advice on what game to check out next, an alert on when your Game Pass subscription ends, and more

Xbox is testing its Copilot for gaming on Android and iOS Many countriesinclude Canada.

This is Microsoft’s generative chatbot for Xbox gaming. This Copilot for Gaming Beta will allow testers to ask questions about any game, including what they are playing, and ask for help if stuck. Copilot can also answer questions about Xbox activity such as play history and achievements and provide game recommendations.

Possible queries include:

  • Hey Copilot, could you remind me of the materials I need to make a sword in Minecraft?
  • While playingSouth of Midnight“I’m currently stuck on Rougarou.” Can you give some tips on how I can beat this boss?
  • I love horror movies. What game should I play?
  • When does my Game Pass subscription renewal?

Microsoft claims that Copilot will use your Xbox account and Bing to find answers.

Microsoft stresses that Copilot for Gaming is still in its “early versions” and wants feedback from players to improve the tool. You’ll need to download the Google Play Store beta version of the Xbox App in order to participate in the beta. An iOS version is not available. Xbox says that those who have an iOS device but do not already have the beta downloaded can either use the Game Bar on Windows PC to try out Copilot for Gaming or wait until the Xbox app for mobile is “more widely available” in the future.
