Samsung released its first Android XR head-set, Project Moohan in December last year. The Samsung Galaxy Unpacked event was held in January, but the Korean brand did not provide a launch date. Google has confirmed that Project Moohan is available to purchase later this year.The Mountain View-based search engine giant made this revelation yesterday during its Google I/O 2025 Keynote. Google also stated that Samsung’s Project Moohan – which may not be the actual name – will be the first Android XR-powered device. It will have “Gemini by your side.”

Google further stated that Android XR has been developed as a team with Samsung, optimized for Snapdragon by Qualcomm, and that hundreds of developers are building for the platform since its developer preview was released last year. Project Moohan is not known by either Google or Samsung, but it will be powered with the Snapdragon XR2+ Generation 2 chip.
