Attackers take down charter airline supporting Trump’s deportation campaigns

GlobalX is a charter airline that the US government uses for deportations. It has admitted that someone has broken into its network infrastructure. SEC filings dated May 9 state

“On May 5, 2025, Global Crossing Airlines Group learned of unauthorized activity within its computer networks and systems supporting portions of its business applications, which the company determined to be the result of a cybersecurity incident,” .

“Upon learning of this activity, the company immediately activated its incident response protocols and third-party cybersecurity experts to assist with containment and mitigation activities and to investigate the nature and scope of the incident, and took actions to contain and isolate the affected servers and prevent further intrusion.”

GlobalX, one of the small carriers contracted by Immigration and Customs Enforcement to carry out President’s mass-deportation campaign “illegal aliens.”

Although the nature of the incident has not yet been determined, cybercriminals who gain entry to a company often use the data they have obtained to extort.

GlobalX has informed law enforcement agencies about the attack and is working hard to understand its full extent. However, the company has not made the information public. GlobalX’s filing continued to say.

“The company currently believes that none of its operations have been disrupted or negatively impacted by this incident.”

This disclosure, although vague, lends credibility to reports claiming that the perpetrators had stolen flight records, passenger manifests and even those relating to deportation flights dating back to January.

While the word of a criminal should not be taken at face value, the timing and ambiguous language of the disclosure suggest that there is some truth in the story. You think ransomware has become a problem? Wait until it infects your CPUs.

that some of its earliest flights from the US to South American nations such as Brazil Colombia, Guatemala and Honduras, were plagued with technical difficulties. The airline operates 19 Airbus planes. (A320, A321, A321F) It reportedly faced a variety of issues, including aborted landings and broken air conditioning, which caused deportees to faint from high temperatures. GlobalX, according to its investor presentation [PDF]is the fastest growing charter airline in America. However, up-to-date filings reveal that it has not yet turned a profit since it was founded in 2018. In its most recent Form 10-K (19459034), it states that the company maintains robust cybersecurity control through risk assessments, systems monitoring, information security policy, and employee training and awareness.
