Telus increases plan prices again and adds a $5/mo credit.

With the $5 credit, the prices are effectively the exact same as before.

Telus, a national telecom based in Vancouver, raised its prices and added a $5/mo discount to all plans.

Telus now There are two sets of three identical plans: one for customers who bring their own phone (BYOP), and another for customers who finance phones. The plans are identical, but the financing versions will cost you an extra $10/mo.

Telus also added a $5/mo for two years credit to all its plans. The credit is only for new customers who are eligible to purchase the plans. It does reduce the price a little. You can find new plans below:

$70/100GB Canada wide (1Gbps speed limit) BYOP, previously $55/100GB.

  • $80/175GB Canada/U.S. BYOP (maximum speed of 1Gbps) – previously $75/150GB.
  • $100/250GB Canada/U.S./Mexico BYOP (2Gbps speed limit) – previously $90/250GB.
  • If Telus is financing a phone, the same plans will increase by $10/mo, to $80, $90-$110, respectively.

Telus used to charge $90/mo. Now that it is $100/mo., the $5 credit brings it down to $95.

Telus has raised prices again, roughly a week since it last did so. It was a copycat of Rogers’ pricing and plans. Now, Telus matches Rogers even more closely. Rogers’ plans include a $5/mo promotional discount for a limited time. Both providers offer the same deals when discounts are taken into account. It’s unclear when the discounts will end.
