U Mobile customers with U Postpaid 98 and U Biz 98 plans, U Premium and U Platinum, will be able to access the 5G SA Network on compatible phones.
The 5G SA network is being rolled-out in phases to eligible customers. So don’t call customer service if you don’t have it. As the name suggests, 5G SA towers are dedicated and standalone 5G networks. You can expect better performance if you connect to a 5G SA Network. U Mobile says that at this time, the majority of 5G Android phones are compatible with its 5G SA Network. However, it is still working on enabling 5G SA for iPhones via a software update. There are currently no plans to expand the access to U Mobile’s other postpaid or prepaid plans. However, non-supported plans can still access the existing 4G and DNB 5G network.
