Recently, we heard that WhatsApp was testing new interfaces for its Android app. The Communities tab was replaced by the “AIs” section, possibly in order to provide all AI powered features in one location. WhatsApp is currently working on a feature which will allow users to create personalized AI chatbots.
The folks at WABetaInfomade this revelation after spotting this feature in WhatsApp beta version 2.25.1.26 for Android. They also shared screenshots, including the one below, that suggest the AI chatbot will be called AI Character.

WhatsApp users can create it within the application. The source claims that WhatsApp plans to include suggestions for making the chatbot creation process easier. WhatsApp will ask users what the chatbot will do and its primary goal when creating it.
There is no information on when this feature will be released to the public. It’s not available for beta users either, as it’s still in development.
