At the recent Meta Connect event held in Menlo Park, California, Meta introduced the next iteration of its Ray-Ban Meta Smart Glasses. The Ray-Ban Meta Gen 2 model delivers significant upgrades, including a more powerful battery, superior camera capabilities, and the continuation of advanced AI features such as hands-free calling and instant language translation.
Upgraded Camera and Video Capabilities
The new smart glasses are equipped with a 12-megapixel ultrawide camera lens, enabling users to record videos in stunning 3K Ultra HD resolution-an improvement over the previous generation’s 2K video quality. This enhancement allows for sharper, more vibrant footage, ideal for capturing moments on the go.
Longer Battery Life for All-Day Use
Battery longevity has been a key focus in this update. The Gen 2 glasses now offer up to eight hours of continuous use, more than doubling the three to four hours provided by the original model. This extended battery life supports longer usage without frequent recharging, making the glasses more practical for daily wear.
Advanced AI Features and Audio Enhancements
Meta has refined the AI capabilities with the introduction of a “Conversation Focus” mode. This feature utilizes the glasses’ open-ear speakers to minimize ambient noise while amplifying the voice of the person you’re speaking with, enhancing clarity during conversations. This functionality is available not only on the Gen 2 Ray-Ban Meta glasses but also on the first-generation models and the Oakley Meta glasses released earlier this year through a software update.
