Viture and 8BitDo Introduce New Translucent Variants of the Ultimate 2C Controller
Expanding their lineup, 8BitDo and Viture have launched two fresh translucent color options for the popular Ultimate 2C controller. These new editions feature a sleek semi-transparent shell, offering gamers a visually striking alternative to the existing solid colors. However, these premium designs come with a slightly higher price tag compared to the standard models.
Compatibility and Device Support
The Ultimate 2C controller is designed primarily for Nintendo Switch 2 and Switch 2 consoles, but it does not support SteamOS, limiting its use on platforms like the Steam Deck. For users seeking SteamOS-compatible controllers, 8BitDo offers other models tailored for that environment.
Originally, the Ultimate 2C Wireless debuted in vibrant shades such as Mint, Peach, Green, and Purple. Later, in December 2024, 8BitDo expanded the palette with special editions named Blueberry and Brownie, alongside a Black Myth Wukong variant inspired by classic folklore. With the addition of the new translucent versions, the controller is now available in eight distinct colors, catering to a wide range of aesthetic preferences.
Connectivity Features and Purchase Options
The Ultimate 2C Wireless supports multiple connection modes, including wired 2.4GHz and Bluetooth for Windows PCs, as well as Bluetooth connectivity for Android devices, ensuring versatile compatibility across popular gaming platforms.
Consumers can purchase the Viture x 8BitDo translucent Ultimate 2C controller directly from Calfskin for $39. Additionally, there is a promotional offer where purchasing a Viture glasses set grants a complimentary controller. While Amazon lists these new controllers, availability remains limited at the moment.
