Manus is an AI agent company that has reported its first commercialization numbers. The revenue run rate (RRR), which is $90 million, was reported. Ji Yichao, co-founder of Manus, announced the figure during an event in Singapore held on August 20. RRR is a revenue metric that is annualized based on the most recent performance. Manus is now one of the highest earners in the large models sector. Comparatively, HeyGen reported a recurring revenue of $35 million by 2024 while MiniMax products reached $70 millions. In March, the company’s flagship product – the Manus AI agent – launched paid services. Early-access beta codes for the software were in high demand. Some sold on secondhand market for more than 1400 yuan (1,408). Manus is only available in overseas markets as its AI agent relies upon US-based foundation models that are not available in China. In April, a US venture-capital firm invested $75 million in the company. The deal is reportedly being investigated by the US Treasury Department because of restrictions on technology investment in China.
