NotebookCheck.net News (19459000): Insider claims Xbox Series X & S console sales are lower than other estimates – NotebookCheck.net News
Gamers are debating whether the current generation of Xbox consoles is successful. A pair of insiders has offered conflicting sales estimates ranging from less than 30 million to 37 million units. Using an AMD fiscal report, leaker KeplerL2 contradicts more positive projections for Xbox console sales.
Insiders have recently shared differing estimates of lifetime Xbox Series X/S console sales. Microsoft has sold around 37 million gaming systems are sold worldwide. Some gamers are doubting the figure as console sales have slowed. KeplerL2, a renowned leaker, suggests that a more accurate estimate is under 30 million consoles.
KeplerL2’s assertion relies upon an AMD fiscal report for Q4 2020includes over 100 million sales of current-gen consoles. S, and even the Steam Deck. Sony confirmed in 2025 that it had sold By the end of 2024, there will be a little over 75 million PS5 consoles . After subtracting 75 million from 100 million and an estimated 4,000,000 Steam Deck sales, 21 million Xbox consoles are sold.
A lot of confusion is caused by conflicting reports that are distributed by manufacturers and publishers. Take-Two Interactive announced in February 2025 that 94 million current-gen gaming consoles had been purchased by the end of November 2024. Sixty-five million of these sales were made by the PS5. S systems.
KeplerL2 concludes the most optimistic estimate for Xbox console sales falls below Welfare’s 37-million projection. The truth may lie somewhere in between these two numbers. VGChartz produces its rankings using a variety of retail sources. Its latest update tracked more than 32 million Xbox Series X|S sales.
KeplerL2 is watched by followers because of leaks on consoles that are in development. This includes PS6 specs. Some of his critics believe that his inability to do sales analysis is due to this. It’s still clear that PlayStation will continue to gain ground on the struggling Xbox consoles in the months ahead.
