While we have reported on power banks, and also numerous products with an e-ink screen, a combination of the two product types is quite rare. MagInk, a powerbank with an eInk screen, is currently available as part an ongoing promotion. Kickstarter campaign
Supporters can reserve one unit for $49, which is apparently half the official price. Shipping is set to begin in November 2025. However, as with all crowdfunding campaigns, there are financial risks involved if the product does not make it to market.
Now that’s out of the way this power bank only has a 5,000mAh capacity, which is low but not uncommon for smaller portable chargers. Wireless charging is supported up to 15 watts, while wired chargers can reach up to 22.5 Watts. MagInk is able to charge multiple devices at once, including a smartwatch or smartphone. The MagInk Pro version also supports Apple Find My as well as Find My Device for Android.
Although the gadget is available in three colors, the Pro version only comes in one color because it has an aluminum case. The color eInk screen can display AI generated photos, but also to-do list or a summary for upcoming appointments and a calendar. This connection relies upon Bluetooth and an app to sync the power bank.
